“If you win the next point, you just might win the game.”
You only need four points to win a tennis game. It can be a very short game. When you are up 3-0 in a game, you think you’ll win; and when you’re down 0-3, you think you might lose. Neither of these outcomes is always true, because all that matters whether you are up or down three points, is the next point.
If you win the next point, you just might win the game. It doesn’t matter which side of the equation you were on before the point was made. You might have just started the game, you might be at deuce (tied), or you might have been trading one point back and forth for eons. It doesn’t matter.
This is true in our other life pursuits. It doesn’t matter where you are when you start, it only matters what you are going to do next. What are you going to do next? How are you going to score your next point?
